We have been to this restaurant many times over the years but only once since it has new owners. Sweet Sassy Molassey is drawing rave reviews for a small town cafe and has been featured recently on Topeka television as a place to go. It was great the last time we went so it's time to try it again. They serve breakfast early and start serving lunch at 11:00. So if you'd rather do breakfast go a little earlier, but not so early that you won't be able to at least say hi to the lunch crowd.
Sometimes our numbers are a little much for smaller places but Sweet Sassy didn't bat an eye when I told her we'd probably have between 20 and 30. In fact, she said, "We're excited to have you and we'll be ready!" So let's give 'em our best ROMEO shot next Wednesday.

Tried to post this yesterday but the website was down for awhile. It was a perfect day to ride with temperatures in the 70's. Hard to believe for late July but we'll take it! 22 ROMEO's decided to take advantage of the day and met for breakfast in Mayetta.
AJ and her crew were very hospitable and the food was very good. She shared with me that they are normally closed on Wednesdays but when I called about coming on Wednesday she wanted to make sure they could accommodate us and brought in her staff for the morning just to serve us!! You don't get that kind of dedication from strip mall chain restaurants so a big thank you to AJ and her staff. In fact, if you go back to the beginnings of ROMEO one of the reasons that we rode in the early days when ROMEO got started was to support small town restaurants. So even though our groups have gotten larger it's still good to be able to go to small towns and support these businesses.
Here are a few photos from the day's activities. I did miss a couple of people that left early before I was able to take pictures. [/size]
