Breakfast/Lunch, Tuesday, 11:00am, Dec 16 - The Sands Cafe in Cotter Ark

Post by Burgere »

Hey gang. A few of you have shown some interest in The Sands Cafe in Cotter, Ark. The weather next Tue looks pretty good. I’d love to do an earlier breakfast ride that day but the temps are in the 30s at 9am. Much warmer towards the 11am time frame. I called them and they said they will push some tables together for us. I’ll be there by 10:30am to ensure we get our table.

Hope to see you next Tuesday in Cotter around 10:30 -11am. They do serve breakfast until like 2pm so Jim can definitely get his hot breakfast and black coffee. 😊

See you soon and stay warm. Some ugly cold coming this weekend.

Getting off topic here just a bit .. but my son Eli wanted me to share with you his Christmas Chicken. He got to open just one of his gifts today which I immediately regretted. I’m about ready to hit him over the head with it. Makes a loud irritating squawking sound.

Leo made it !! He’s also wearing his Letko Cycle shirt. I met Leo at the Sands Cafe back on Nov 19 2024 because I recognized that Letko shirt. I bought and raced KTMs from Letko Cycle in the 1990s. Jim Koenig (one of two Letko owners) was also my high school plastics teacher in Kansas City Kansas. Small world. Anyway, Leo and I connected over his shirt and the rest is history.

Ed, Steve, Neil and Glenn’s bikes. Glenn just arrived and looking good. His CFMOTO almost at the 1000 mile mark.

Neil may be having second thoughts about drag racing his v11 Sport against that yellow TL1000R. I’d probably just let him win .. so he continues being my buddy. Steve was just enjoying the moment.

Sorry gang. A few of my pics from our Cotter ride today got attached to the original Cotter post. I’ll just move on and attach the rest of the pics below with the correct ride post. Hope that makes sense. 🤪

Great ride to Cotter Arkansas today at the Sands Cafe. We had 12 ROMEOS and one Juliet for a total of 13 today for fellowship and eats. Great time was had by all and the Sands food and service was pretty darn good.

Today we had Don, Bill and Lauren, myself (Ed), Leo, Glenn, Larry, Steve, Neil, Mark, Jim, Mike and John.

Thanks for coming out today. Weather was nice. Maybe a tad cool for anyone coming from Norfork or Mountain Home. I had an 8 minute ride from my cabin to Cotter .. but I promise, next Tuesday .. I’ll get in some good distance as we head back north to Antler Package and Pizza in Gainesville, MO.

So for those ROMEOS and Juliet’s who cannot make next week’s pizza RTE, do have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. We may have a New Years Day ride if the weather is ok. Start the new 2026 season in style !!

Happy Holidays to all.

Leo was on the phone the moment he got off his bike. Probably telling his wife Evelyn he made it safely to Cotter .. and to not try to cash any life insurance checks just yet.

Great to see Mike Newlun today. He told me he brought his new Taser X26 and would not hesitate to show it to me if I teased him about misbehaving today. I’m cool Mike !! All good.

Mike and John. Great to see them both. I promised John that I would take my picture captions a little more serious this time. I’m 65 years old and I’m gonna start acting like it by God.
