Well, its past Labor Day; time to switch back to lunch rides and hope that summer realizes its over. This week we’ll move east, to Beaumont. I’ve eaten there before, and it’s also been suggested by at least one other ROMEO Rider. It should make for a nice ride through the tail end of the Flint Hills, and I’m sure the Legendary Small Group will find a scenic route to lunch.

By the way, a big thanks to Scheduler Emeritus Bob Lee for setting up rides when both John and I are out of town. (The MotoGP races in Indy were great, and I’m sure John enjoyed the riding out west.)
I could still use a few suggestions for lunch spots south of Wichita.
See you in Beaumont!

Wow---Hard to keep track of which day is which when you throw in a Holiday... Anyhow---Let's have the "Small Group" meet at MotorSports tomorrow and we will leave for Beaumont at 11:00 ... This gives us that need extra Beauty Sleep a little more time.. ( As if it will help )...Bob Lee will pick the route for us... AND---Louie Cook is in charge of the weather..( Louie does not have a computer--so he cannot refuse the honor of being the Weather Man.)

Howdy from out west.
It's Big Bad John from west of Pueblo Colorado.
The trip west has been GREAT. Left Wichita on Friday Sept 20 at 3:00pm. Stopped at York Ne for the night.
Next day west on I 80 to the Great Plains Museum over the I-80. Nice. Stopped at Scotts Bluff for the night.
Sunday on to Thermopolis Wy. Swam in hot spring pools. MMMM. Good on the old back.
Monday on into Yellowstone Park. Stayed at Fishing Bridge by Yellowstone Lake.
Tues rode north after an encounter with BUFFALO'S on the road. TOO CLOSE.
Will tell more later.
Enjoy the ride Tomorrow.
Bye.

Re: South Central Lunch Ride: Wed., Sept 8, 12:30 PM
We had fourteen bikes and seventeen people in attendance; not bad for a day threatening rain. (I did run into a little on the ride home, but not even enough to stop and put the rain gear on.) Good to see the Chanute guys again, in addition to our frequent visitors from Moundridge. The hotel had set a room aside for us (coulda been for the protection of the other patrons...,) and the service was good.
