"South" Breakfast Suggestions???

Post by roginoz »

The South Central group wants to head south for breakfast, but we're a little thin on breakfast places that direction. (I've only been riding with you guys a year or so, and I'm not aware of many.) I've checked the map of previous places, but there isn't a lot south of Wichita.

We need to hear from the guys down south concerning a good breakfast place. If someone gives us a suggestion, we'll schedule it. I'd like to go south on the 21st. Click on the little envelope in the upper right corner to send me an e-mail.

How's this: If you're the first one to suggest the winning location, I'll buy your breakfast on July 21. (They say that "there is no free lunch," but there is a free breakfast...)

Historically we have not had good turnouts on weekend Romeo events, but there is nothing keeping you from posting your own breakfast ride on Saturday. I would suggest using the "Riding Event" forum or General Discussions. Several have done this in the past, some with good results and some felt a little lonely. But then that happens sometimes on our regular rides also. Corwin has developed a nice following for his Friday breakfast rides. They started out with two or three riders and last week was the largest turnout of the week.

Last summer some of the guys were posting a meet and ride lunch that worked well. Try something for a few weeks and see how it works, or do a monthly thing. We are getting close to our "second annual nut run" on a Saturday. Wouldn't mind it being a touch cooler for that as it is a long ride for about everyone.

About the only rules we have on the website is keep it G rated and try not to interfere with one of the regular group rides.

Thanks

I am just poking a bit as most of you are obviously retired, but I may very well try to schedule a weekend run! I did a search but found nothing, what is this annual Nut Run you mentioned?

Woody: Glad to see you made it here from the MSTA forum. The weekday rides give us old guys an additional opportunity to ride (our version of adult day care...) I'm usually up for a Saturday ride. Ever been to Roy's BBQ in Hutchinson? How about this Saturday, July 17? (I'm also going to post the July 24 ST-Owners/MSTA lunch ride to LeRoy in the General forum here.)

As a matter of fact I have ate at Roy's, I lived in Hutch for a couple of years! I may be able to do that, I have a brother in law that is having a major surgery tomorrow and have in laws staying with us, if all goes well I may be able to slip out for a ride! I'll have to get back with you on it though if thats cool?
