I got the information from a local person that dined there often that they were closing their doors this week due to lack of business… I hate to see this kind of thing happen to any small business but this seems to happen more and more now days…

Big L,

It is always sad to see one of our local places go under. It's very hard for them this time of year when the business slows and the utilities double or triple. That was always a major part of coordinating the rides, keeping track of the opening and closings. I heard that the place in Colony closed also.

Over time there will be some that seem personal, The Two Sisters in Kincaid, The Effingham Cafe in Effingham, The Dinner Bell in Wetmore were some that just seemed a little sadder than some of the others. So many of these places are kept open by sense of community rather than profit. The owners seeing a need, work long hours at little or no wages, just to keep their cafe as a meeting place.

It is good that we can help these places make a little money from time to time. It's sad that we can't provide enough business to keep them going. We all need to be more like Swanee and attend a Romeo lunch every day.

Good luck in taking care of the South Eastern group.
