I was wondering who is the rider at the top of this page? You know the one with his arms spread wide. I see a guy with a yellow helmet, on what appears to be a dual sport, possibly a V Strom. I'm thinkin it's Harry, he claims it isn't. Who knows the truth?

Hoser,
I am the one responsible, but I don't know the truth. I found that picture on a web page somewhere and can't remember for the life of me where. When I started this web site and forum I remembered it and found it again and copied and modified the picture (to reduce its size and crop it to make it long). The picture struck a note with me as it captures one of those moments when you are on a long trip and you are way out in the middle of nowhere with nobody around and it hits you like a flash that you are really riding, on your own, and this country is HUGE and BEAUTIFUL, and Life Is Good. I felt it a number of times on my 6000 mile solo trip last summer.
So I just think of that guy as anybody, as me, or as any of you, or anyone else who sees it and wishes they had a motorcycle and could ride like we do. And, in my humble opinion, it captures the spirit of the ROMEOs in the way that Don and Richard started it - we don't get together and ride, we ride to get together. Just ride by yourself and come and meet up and enjoy some company, then ride home again by a different way.
Sorry, got lost there for a minute, did that answer your question?

Sure does, it is a great pic, and I agree with what you said about all the things it represents! Hoser
