It looks like it may be a little cool, but it should be clear next Wednesday. A trip to Walton will get us out of town, but it's close enough that cool weather shouldn’t be too much of a limiting factor. It’s a quick trip up (or down) I-135 and east on US50, or a bit further if you want to cruise up via the back roads.
We haven't been to the Whistle Stop in about six months, and it's been a year since they saw us at lunch time.

The "Small Group" will leave MotorSports at 10:00 for our lunch ride to Walton on Wednesday. Should be a large crowd and enjoyable to see some of the Northerner's so we can visit.
Re: South Central Lunch Ride Nov. 23
It looks like the North Central group is going to meet up with you in Walton.
I'm down on South Padre Island right now; hauled the KLR down in the pickup so I could ride to lunch with the Winter Texans (and have a bike to play on while my wife and Zoey The Dog went beachcoaming.) It turns out that the TX group is meeting at a place here on the island - looks like I'll log at least a mile round trip...
John & Bob: I'll set up next week's ride (Nov 30) next Monday, unless one of you posts one sooner. (I'll be back Sunday night.) Cary has the book.

Re: South Central Lunch Ride Nov. 23
The Whistle Stop in Walton was a good choice on a mild November day. Signatures in the South Central book, including North Central riders, numbered 39. Roger Shores was the long distance rider with 176 miles.Roger was rewarded with some ice cream at Scoops in Hesston, courtesy of Bob lee. Ron and Art from Newton each came 5 miles.
Milt George brought a granddaughter and Bill Emond brought a grandson while each was "retired" from school today.I think Evan and Lynette Jones were the only married couple---congratulations on 50 years together.
Sorry, no pictures. Maybe someone else has some to post.
Happy Thanksgiving

I can now say I have been to Walton, KS and the Whistlestop Cafe. It was 37 and foggy when I left Kansas City this morning but by the time I met you guys in Walton it was well on its way to the high I registered for the day of 66 degrees. Great riding for the 23rd day of November
I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Gen Bob taught me how to put syrup on pancakes if they are falling over the sides of the plate.YOU CUT A HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE PANCAKES AND FILL IT WITH SYRUP
It is always an honor to see and visit with the ROMEOs "Elder Statesman" Gibbo(sp) He has a bunch of competition for "Elder Statesman" but 84 holds the record and he show no signs of letting up. Ride safe my friend and have a good Thanksgiving. My Kansas City guys always ask "Where do you get those stickers and how do I get some". This is Richard the Ride Coordinator of the North Central Romeo Group and a Founding Romeo Member giving me a whole bunch of stickers. Thanks for getting the stickers Richard everyone appreciates them. Richard also gave me an gift for being the Romeo that rode the farthest for today's lunch. Thanks Richard, I will have it engraved and cherish it forever
I have been putting SKOOPs on my goofy Google Maps for years. It is obvious it is a favorite stop for both the North Central and South Central Groups. ....and when Bob told me that another 30 miles was nothing
and that he would buy me a Caramel Sundae I was in
Now I know why you guys are so crazy about SKOOPS.
It was a great day and a beautiful ride. Thanks to all you Romeos for making me feel so welcome. No one sits alone at a Romeo Lunch. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and many many miles of safe riding

Re: South Central Lunch Ride Nov. 23
As others have said, we had a good turnout today. It was great seeing the north group again, I haven't seen them for quite a while, and I noticed some new faces I hadn't seen before, I am sorry I didn't get over to talk with them, maybe next time. I'm glad Roger decided to come over and join in our fun, it's always great seeing him. Like GenBob and others, my grandson and I rode over to Scoopes for ice cream. By the time we were heading home, the weather had turned mild and we had a very enjoyable ride. Great seeing everybody, I hope the weather will stay mild at least on Wednesday's for us. See you next time.
