I would like to know who in the group has the influence to get that kind of weather for our lunch rides. Was that a perfect day or what. The only glitch was service being slow, and that is unusual there. I have been there many times over the last 35 years or so and that is the first time we have had that problem. I guess it could have been that Fifty old geezers showed up for lunch. That was the official count from Larry and Larry, 46 bikes two cars and two passengers. I guess that would make the count 48 geezers and two ladies.
Again I proved that I am not a leader by missing the first turn going to Vassar for pie. We did get there with no more problems only to find that about half of the guys from lunch had beat us to pie. We were also met by Bill who had missed lunch and made it to desert. He's been saying his is going to join us for about a year now and finally made it. The only downside for the day was that being one of the last to be served I didn't have the chance to visit much. I guess there were two downsides, the other being that I stopped at the house with the intent on getting back out for some more miles and didn't make it out again.
This was truly a day to feel sorry for Bruce, Marvin, Dave, Bill and all the other riders that were "working" or doing other things that kept them off their scoots. Once again I want to thank all of you for making this so much fun. It is looking like the riding season is really getting to the pick and choose time of year. Just looked at the forecast and it will be in the teens tonight. Don't be shy about sending me suggestions for places to go or ideas on how to do stuff.
Two last things. First is the little place in Paxico is about the only place that we have been that I think we actually kept her in business. I had word from a rider in that area that they are requesting us back and that just isn't practical this year. So if you get a chance and want to take the wife out for lunch, drop in and do a little antique shopping. There is not a thing wrong with going places in the car when weather isn't bike friendly.
Second is, I am not planning a ride for next Week. If enough of you want to do something drop me a line and I will set something up. We are pretty much stuck with Wednesday do to the holiday etc.
Take Care and enjoy the holiday
Don
