I'm not a big fan of breakfast rides and think that in general we should stick to lunch rides BUT I'm going to make an exception for this week. With forecasts generally saying we should hit 100 degrees next Wednesday, it is probably prudent to get out early and make it home before it becomes really uncomfortable to ride. I don't intend for us to become a breakfast group but I'll make the decision for the next few weeks based on the forecast, so please check the website carefully for the next 4 or 5 weeks to make sure whether it will be a breakfast (9:30) or lunch (11:00) starting time!
So this week we'll meet up around 9:30 at:
Aunt Netter's Cafe

This was a list of the board specials on one of our earlier visits but they have a nice breakfast menu with lots of choices. They serve breakfast until 11 and then switch over to lunch.
For a look at their complete breakfast menu, you can access it here:

You may have seen the post announcing the Fall Rendezvous at the Hub in Marble Falls, Arkansas happening September 12, 13, 14, 2016. If you've never gone to one, you might consider it this fall. It is a perfect time for some fall riding in the Ozarks and roads in the area around the Hub are some of the best around. For all the details check out this link:

It doesn't seem like the extreme heat holds us back from riding although I suspect the 9:30 start time helped everyone make the decision to ride today and get home before it got too bad. The HOSER count stood at 51 and with a couple of late arrivals we ended up with 53 bikes today along with a couple of cages and a royal lawnmower carrying a local celebrity on an attached chariot. As usual, the fine staff at Aunt Netter's handled us in great shape and no one had to wait very long. According to the owner, he counted around 60 breakfasts that couldn't be attributed to their regular crowd so we made a pretty good impact on beautiful downtown Lecompton this morning.

- There were 23 bikes parked along this side of the street by about 9:10 AM, with 13 on the other side of the street. By the time the other 17 arrived, we had quite a presence!

- This shop was a classic. The look, feel, and smell of this place took me back 60 years to my home town. I thought maybe the JD belonged to our local ROMEO, but he was to arrive in a much more ostentatious fashion a bit later.

- I hope no one stopped in City Hall this morning to pay their water bill. They would have had to park and walk today.

- And welcome to Scott F from Topeka making his first ROMEO appearance. He recently retired from law enforcement and we are glad he found our group. Welcome Scott! His Victory attracted some attention, especially from our Victory contingent. Allen and Bill paid extra attention to this sparkling clean 2002. Hope to see you back on future rides Scott!!

Here are some pics from the early bunch. Knowing Aunt Nettie is a popular spot several of us came in early in hopes everyone would get served without having to wait for a seat.
