If so how would it work? Are any of the ROMEOS on Twitter?

I see little reason as long as we have the Romeo website forum and Tapatalk for smart phone users. Just my opinion...

Re: Should we notify rides on Twitter
I would be up for trying it out. We have just started using Twitter in our club in Houston. The thing to remember though, as I think about it, is that we will need different Twitter accounts for each area that posts a ride. So that means each ride coordinator will have to have an account and then send out the "tweets". Kinda depends on how many people express interest and the interest/ability of the ride coordinators to do it.
Anybody else out there use Twitter regularly?

What happens when the ride coordinator is unavailable to make a Twitter post? Some of the coordinators like to use more characters than Twitter allows. All reasons Twitter would not be a good choice for all to use.

Agree with Parkville Rider. Not everyone tweets (not all the retired generation anyway) but most of us do have web access.
The only Romeos who can't easily find out about rides, other than by calling up a friend, are the few stubborn holdouts who don't want anything to do with the internet.
A text-to-landline robo-call list is the only geekoid way I can think of to help those folks (the other way is human volunteers).

Re: Should we notify rides on Twitter
I've never used Twitter; not really a fan of short cryptic messages. Then, I don't use Facebook, either. There's a fine line between new communication venues and massive wastes of time. If someone wants to re-post the information from the web site on Twitter or Facebook, that's fine with me.

It is a direct correlation rather than a fine line. Prognosticators have predicted that when eventually everyone is tweeting, texting, gaming, skyping and all that other cyber-stuff every waking minute of the day, instead of getting any useful work done, then our entire civilization will implode and go back to the stone age. Just a cheerful thought for the day
