The last time we were here everyone was talking about how good the breakfast was. This time we will be there for lunch. Gina said that Meat Loaf is the special for Wed. I bet it is as good as the breakfast. She said you can order off the menu also. I told her the guys start showing up around 10:30.

It was good to hear from you today! I wanted to let you know we have freshly made burgers, cooked to order, plus hand breaded chicken fry steaks and pork tenders...hand breaded chicken strips.I look forward to seeing you all again. Have a blessed day. God bless you...
Rose's Downtown Cafe was ready for us with three tables marked "Reserved". Made it seem like the ROMEO's had joined the country club. Nevertheless,16 of us showed up on 14 bikes and one pickup. Most everyone scattered, presumably heading home, but a few of us headed to Easton to the Hilltop Grocery for a little pie, and to try to get in at least a hundred mile day. It's amazing how the rain the last two days pretty well took care of the massive color display we've had the last couple of weeks. It's starting to take on the look of winter now. Oh well, still a great day to be a ROMEO. Supposed to be sunny and 60 on Friday-might be a good day for a ride to SE Kansas.

There was a funeral in town today and whoever the honored guest was today, either he owed everyone money or they really liked him. This was about the only parking left on the square.
Inside, Gina had been working since early morning to prepare for our arrival. Meatloaf was the special of the day, complete with green beans, mashed or baked potato, roll, tea, and one trip through the salad bar for $6.75. What a deal!
This was the temp when we got there around 10:20.
I don't know what Bill was thinking about, but it was deep!
Benny and John got here on 4 wheels total, but as John said, "They were attached together".
This is Harry's wallet. No one had ever seen it before.
Like a lot of things that shrink when it's cold, apparently it affected the circumference of Osky's water tower.
According to Allen, the original courthouse on the square was destroyed in a tornado in the 60's. Modern buildings certainly don't have the charm of those built earlier.
When we left shortly before noon, it had made it up to a balmy 36. Not sure what happened to the forecast of near 50 today?
schoolmaster,
The Jefferson County Court House was destroyed by a tornado on May 19, 1960. It was the same tornado that destroyed about half of Meriden and caused one fatality in Meriden. I know when it was because I was in the next door neighbors "cave" when the tornado went over. The tornado took off one side of our house completely eliminated the garage and all of the out buildings.
Before the tornado destroyed the Jefferson County Court House it had the notoriety of being the oldest operating county court house west of the Mississippi River.
