Hey everyone. Looks like pretty nice weather on Tuesday Jan 13. A few folks had some interest in riding over to the peel ferry and eating somewhere up that way. A few of the places that I know about up that way are closed during the week for winter hours. I was told that Shirley’s Kitchen in Forsyth Missouri caters to lots of bikers and has great food.
I spoke to Rose at Shirley’s Kitchen .. she’s really spicy and fun. Anyway, they have a table reserved for us at 11am on Tuesday. Thought we could ride from Yellville up to the ferry .. ride the ferry over and then another 35 minutes or so up to Forsyth. The distance from Mountain Home to Shirley’s is 71 miles. Not too bad with nice weather. Same distance from Yellville to Shirley’s. The ride should be nice from Yellville.
Some of us can meet in Yellville at the Phillip 66 and take hwy 14. I’ll probably correspond once more before I see you all next Tuesday. Make sure the weather behaves.
Might as well enjoy a slightly longer ride since the good weather may not last.
Hope to see you next Tuesday. Ed ..

What a nice Ride To Eat (RTE) today. Last nice weather ride for a few weeks. We pulled it off !!! 155 miles on my odometer.
Todd, Neil, Jim, Mike N., Glenn, John, Sharon and myself (Ed) met up this morning at 9:30am at the Phillip 66 in Yellville Ark .. like clock work. Glenn led us north on Hwy 14 and then on to Hwy 125 to the Peel Ferry. Our ferry timing was not the best, but that gave us more time for conversation while we waited. Beautiful sunshine too. Before we knew it, the ferry was docking for our trip across Bull Shoals lake. After another 20 minutes of picture taking and fellowship on the ferry, we were off to Shirley’s Kitchen. I called them and told them we would be 45 minutes late.
The ride up to Forsyth Mo was very nice. The winds started picking up a bit which always makes it interesting on two wheels. Anyway, we rode lots and lots of twisty roads. Very nice roads with few to no real potholes. After we arrived at Shirley’s Kitchen, we noticed another four bikes parked outside. It was Larry, Doug, Bill and Tony. Nice fellas for sure. The four had already eaten .. thanks to our ferry timing. It’s all good. Anyway, Shirley’s was nice. Thank you Jamie and Rose. We had a nice time and a great RTE.
Looks like we are back to colder temps for two plus weeks. Thinking we are gonna do Brenda’s for a breakfast feast next week. I will post that ride/drive in a day or two.
Thanks again everyone for making the haul up to Shirley’s.
Talk soon. Ed ..
