Option A this week is Timber Creek Bar & Grill in Louisburg, KS. They are expecting us at 11am when they open. We were here a little less than a month ago and I received a lot of positive comments so I vowed to return. The weather is going to be cold, 32 at 11am. This is a really great restaurant--so 2,3,4 or more wheels, I hope to see you there.

Option B this week is Flashbacks in Tonganoxie, KS. Looks like a cool day for the last ride of 2025 so let's go to a cool place for lunch. 2, 3 or 4 wheels join us in Tonganoxie at 11:00. They will still have their Christmas decorations up and Rock-in-roll Christmas music on the jukebox. See you all there and have a Happy Holiday.

Other Business: As many of you know, I (Long John) have been planning to retire from the ROMEO Ride Coordinator position as of the end of the year. I have been in the position for a little over 3 years and it's time for me to step down. It has been a pleasure. I want to tell you that it is not a difficult job and many ROMEOs have expressed appreciation to me and others for those who set up the weekly breakfast/lunch rides and other ROMEO events. I also want to assure you that, if I can do it, anyone can handle the job and that there is always help available whenever you need it. Today we had 10 hardy ROMEO'S at Flashbacks in Tonganoxie and 4 ROMEO'S on a check-out trip to The 1:16 Marketplace in Polo, Mo. All of us at Flashbacks had a great time and good food. The scouting crew in Polo reported that the new restaurant was indeed a go again place! There were no riders at either location! Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

We had 20 ROMEOs at Timber Creek in Louisburg this morning. The chef (or boss?) came out from the kitchen to see if anyone had come on their bikes--he said his was in the garage. I told him nobody had ridden. Shortly after that Al and Allen showed up on two wheels on this frigid morning!! The food was excellent and Amber took great care of us. I hope you enjoyed the morning as much as I did.

This was my last breakfast/lunch as KC South Ride Coordinator. I spent most of the morning thinking about being a part of the ROMEOs. I've been with the group since I retired in 2007 and worked as a Coordinator for a little over 3 years. Many of you have expressed their appreciation for my work, thank you. It is a great and unique group operated solely by volunteers and it always continues, even when a Coordinator quits. Someone always steps up--this time it could be you! If you are interested in making sure the KC South weekly rides continue, feel free to email me at jenglish@jenglish.us and I will do whatever it takes to help you become a coordinator.
