We have been to this restaurant many times over the years but not since it has new owners. Sweet Sassy Molassey is drawing rave reviews for a small town cafe and has been featured recently on Topeka television as a place to go. So let's give it a go. They start serving lunch at 11:00 and a friend told me their smash burger is the best one he's ever had. But they are open for breakfast too, so if you'd rather do breakfast go a little earlier, but not so early that you won't be able to at least say hi to the lunch crowd.
Sometimes our numbers are a little much for smaller places but Sweet Sassy didn't bat an eye when I told her we'd probably have between 20 and 30. In fact, she said, "We're excited to have you and we'll be ready!" So let's give 'em our best ROMEO shot next Wednesday.

If there's better weather or a time of year for a motorcycle ride to a small town cafe, I can't imagine where or when it would be. 70 degrees and sunny, a really good restaurant, good friends to ride with; it doesn't get better than that. And 26 ROMEOS took advantage of the opportunity to have either breakfast or lunch with Sweet Sassy Molassey.
Mayetta has a one block, very quaint downtown that is the perfect setting for a ROMEO ride. Sweet Sassy was very welcoming to our group. The service was quick, friendly and the food was top notch. Gary P. said he had one of the best cinnamon rolls he's ever had, and he even bought a second one that he said he was taking home to his bride. We'll never know if it actually made it all the way home!
Al joined us today after recovering from his move to new digs. I'll set up the ride next week but I expect he'll be back soon to take over. I snapped a few photos just in case you didn't make it today to let you know who was there and what a good time you could have had if you had been able to join us!
