On the nice ride to Galax, VA we stopped at the Pink Cadillac in Natural Bridge, VA hoping to get a glimpse of Elvis, but we were told that "he had left the building".After a nice dinner at the Creek Bottom Brewery and Distillery we went to the "famous" REX THEATER for a live performance of Carson Peters and Iron Mountain.I was really impressed by this twenty year old and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a lot more of him. The next day we headed over to Bristol and went to the Birth Place of Country Music Museum. The museum was worth the visit. It was very well done. In the evening we took a short ride to Carter Fold for another live performance. As is the REX Theater, the Carter Fold is a must stop on the Country Music Tour. video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/MChLuaQFLmS9R2YY8
On day 3 we headed home with a stop at the Floyd General Store, where they were having a "jam" session. If you want to test year skills, just showup, sit down and start playing. And of course, if you want to "Flat Foot", step right up. This is a trip that you would enjoy. There are many variations of this trip, but below is our itinerary and a map of where we went.
