Roger

FYI. Talked with Debbie at the Hub today. She advised they are fully booked for the Fall Rendezvous. She has a list started to take cancelations as they come in. If you booked a room and are not going to use it please call Debbie and release the room. Anyone wanting to go that has not made reservations should call and get their name on the list if they haven't already.

I am leaving early AM on 9/15 for the Hub in Arkansas. Are there others leaving from the Wichita area about that time? Is there a preference of travel route to the Fall Rendezvous?

I'm leaving Monday morning, but I'm taking a bike in the back of the truck. My wife and the big white dog are going, too, and only one will fit on the back of the bike. We'll see you there.

Sounds like a great event, and only 60 miles away.
Unfortunately I'm just an OMEO (not retired yet) and don't have that time slot open.
Feel free to stop by my pawn shop should you find yourself in Mt. Home (it's by Hardees).
And fwiw, BBB in Fayetteville is the 24th-27th.

Because of rain expected in Wichita area, I am leaving Sunday AM and should arrive about 4:00 PM at the Hub. My grandson will be traveling with me. Looking forward to the rides.

Just curious why no one has commented on the Fall Rendezvous? We had a great time inspite of the fog and rain. We enjoyed being with our Romeo friends, both new and familiar (notice I didn't say OLD) :) The hot dog cookout was GREAT Monday night thanks to Junior and Shirley! We rode Tuesday all around Jasper and the famous Pig Trail regardless of the foggy mountain tops. It was challenging at times but Paul did a great job of keeping us moving at a brisk pace. :o We stopped at the Cliff House for lunch, but could only enjoy the humming birds feeding as the view was nothing but fog. Wednesday after a breakfast in town at a local favorite, Neighbors Mill, Bakery & Restaurant, we headed north and east. Our goal was to have lunch at the Gilbert Cafe only to find it closed and for sale by the owner. So we ended up at Ferguson's Country Store and Restaurant on highway 65 and a light lunch before racing to beat the rain coming from the north. We made it with a few minutes to get the bikes under cover before heavy rain and winds moved briefly through the area. It caught several riders on the road but I think all made it back safe and sound as far as I know. After a brief rest it was time for the banquet and festivities culminating the Rendezvous. Harry from Topeka kept us entertained as he spread the wealth from the drawings. He also tried his best to give away several door prizes although some felt the tickets were not drawn in their favor. ;) The ride coordinators expressed their need for help to support the Romeo website and Mick passed around a cup for those wishing to donate to both the website as well as a memorial for a fallen Romeo, Harold Eulert, who was the victim of a tragic motorcycle accident last Friday (Sept. 12th) in Topeka. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Harry also reminded everyone to please reward our servers by leaving them a tip on each table. Debbie & Randall and crew did a great job of preparing a feast for our enjoyment. So neither the fog nor rain could keep the Romeo group from enjoying the Rendezvous. Stories were shared, jokes cracked, and lies were in abundance as liquid refreshments loosened many a tongue.

We hope all made it home safe and sound. We waited until about 8:30 before leaving the HUB for KCMO and only hit a little mist around Springfield. It was a great time and enjoyable ride. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.

I would like to thank all of you that contributed so generously to either/or both the Harold Eulert Memorial Fund or for maintenance and upgrades to the ROMEO website. Through voluntary contributions made at the Rendezvous banquet on Wednesday night, we raised $180 for the website fund and $147 for the Eulert Memorial that will go to the Topeka Lutheran Choir Fund and the Topeka Lutheran School Fund to honor Harold Eulert. Harold (and his wife Sharon) was an avid ROMEO rider at the age of 85 and his family will greatly appreciate the caring and generosity of the ROMEOS to honor Harold's memory. Jerry has also expressed his appreciation of our support for his efforts to provide us with a great web site.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED!!
