I told Leland I was going to schedule a lunch in Paola so I could go out to his Pecan Farm to get some pecans and/or walnuts for Melissa. She always bakes the best cookies at Christmas time. Leland told me that the dry weather had really been hard on his pecan trees, but he had scoured the country and had brought in some real good ones. He said they had just put a bunch of new gravel on the road getting to his place and it would be better if he brought the pecans to town and met us at the Circle C Cafe. Boy, you can't beat a deal like that. What he really said was he didn't think a Gold Wing with 142,000 miles on it and a slick tire ought to be out on country roads.

Anyway, I stopped by the Circle C Cafe and had a visit, and some food, with Tina. I am really going to be surprised if this isn't the best food, best serice and most reasonable prices we have had in a long time. (I think I owe you one, and this might be it.) She is giving us a private room, serves breakfast all day and starts serving lunch when the first guy orders. I even made a copy of the part of the menu. Lunch 11:00 am. Hopefully I have booked a room that is big enough that we can all sit and remain seated as long as anyone wants to. RC's does serve breakfast till 11:00 so if someone does want breakfast probably better get your order in be 10:30. I asked them to setup for 40. There are two long tables with seating on both side. These people are proffessional and are use to large groups. Hopefully we will get good food and good service.

Circle C, Paola, 12-11-12

It was a chilly but sunny ride to Paola. I was later than usual and only saw a few bikes when I arrived. I was feeling good that I had finally told a restaurant an accurate number of Romeos. (10-15... it was 20 degrees and forecast of flurries)[attachment=5]dec2012 011.JPG[/attachment]What a surprise I had when I walked into our room and it was FULL!! Ed and I probably rode 25,000 miles together this year and when he got a new Gold Wing I couldn't stand it so I had to get one too. [attachment=0]dec2012 010.JPG[/attachment]Look at those bags of PECANS We didn't buy all the pecans Leland and Slina brought in but I hope we helped their Christmas in a small way. I know they helped mine and I can't wait till Melissa starts baking those Christmas goooooodies.

Ok, I told them 30 to 40 that should be a good guess. Come ready to sharing the Holiday spirit with your ROMEO friends. Lunch starts at 11 and breakfast stops at 11 your choice but the Fried Chicken is really good. Tell our hostess Gina, HI, she has really been helpful. I think you have figured it out, you don't need to be on two wheels to join us and spouses, kids, girlfriends and friends are always welcome!! Merry Christmas and I hope to see you next TUESDAY.

Don S. gave me a tire that was a whole lot better than what I was riding on. Mike V. put it on for me. Hey, I am ready to ride. Anyone want to go to the PIE HOLE in Girard, Friday??
