Retired Old Men Eating Out,
It is looking like Thursday might de a good day for a ride to;
Mt Vernon Family Restaurant
722 W Mt Vernon Blvd
Mt Vernon, MO 65712
417-461-0802
7:55 am leaving Casey's parking lot, next to McDonald's
Come with your vehicle of choice
9:15 am eta for the restaurant
Meet us here, along the way or C U There
Planned route will be: E on 160, S on T, E on N, S on 37, E on F, then S on F, E on CR-2110, E on V, S on 39, W on Mt Vernon Blvd, restaurant is on left up on the hill.
I did a pre-ride on it today, it all looks good with a nice easy ride through the country with hills and curves, 58 miles in 1 hr 20 minutes.
Note:
Let's try to keep it fairly close together, (1) it will help keep cars from pulling between us, (2) It will reduce the "Rubber Band Effect". When we get far strung out, then the tail end needs to ride faster to catch up, possibly 10mph + or -, even though the lead bike is maintaining constant speed. I do not ride over the speed limit and do increase speed slowly after stop signs etc.
Keep in mind the "Buddy System". When we're heading S on F, turning E on CR-2110 is 1 mile after the curve on F and is hard to see until you're near it. Therefore E do not proceed until you know that the person behind you sees where you turn. This is the Buddy System. It has happened before that someone missed it.
