Ralph N. instigated a ride for Friday. A beautiful day with temps in the eighties.
Since it was National Donut Day we started the ride with a FREE donut at Duck Donuts in Winchester.
From Winchester we had a nice scenic ride on the backroads to Berkeley Springs, WV. Where we had lunch at the Canary Grill. John O. and Cici had all the BBQ ribs they could eat.
The Canary Grill sits high on a hill and the view was very nice.
After lunch we started the route by stopping at the Scenic overlook. John P. had not been there before. It is always a beautiful place to stop.
I had been learning a new routing program called Scenic and it created an interesting route home that the group was willing to try. It was the agreement of all riders that one section of about 20 miles was up there with the best cury/twisty roads we have ever ridden. When we finished everyone had a very big smile on their face.
The best portion of the ride was on a road called "DETOUR ROAD"
Here is a picture of the route and a .GPS file of it, so you can ride it. https://a.rever.co/rides/11149431And a picture of the entire ride. It was a great day and we all had fun.
