I am sorry if you had to miss the "MAPLE SYRUP FESTIVAL", we had a GRAND TIME.

After a great lunch, we strolled through the streets, taking in the countless vendors selling just about everything imaginable. I spent some time chatting with a craftsman who creates beautifully detailed wooden maps—he had traveled all the way from St. Louis. Meanwhile, John picked up four dozen donuts to take home for the grandkids 😉

After stocking up on pork rinds, kettle corn, and donuts, we made our way to a maple syrup farm. Melissa couldn’t resist trying a “Maple Fizz,” and of course that led to buying some ginger syrup so we could try making them at home 🙄. We sampled a variety of maple syrups and learned just how slow and labor-intensive the process really is.

On the way home, John made a stop to visit the “Blues Brothers.”

The weather couldn’t have been better, which brought out the largest crowd we’ve ever seen. Melissa had never tried pork rinds before, but when she spotted a line stretching a block long, she knew they had to be worth it—and gave them a try.

Below is a link to a google album which is a collection of everyone's pictures.

We have been to the Highland County Maple Festival several time, but this was one of the best. Thanks John for planning another great ride.
