This should be a fun one. I scoped this out a year ago and hoped we'd get a chance to try this one sometime, and I think now is the time. Forecast so far is sunny with a high of 80 so it's still pretty decent for a lunch ride and you can get home before it gets too hot.
I think you will enjoy visiting Paxico. It is a charming little hamlet and they have worked very hard to make the downtown a fun place to visit. There are a few little shops and lots of antiques (or as people our age would call it, old furniture and stuff we grew up with). And the Longbranch is a great little bar and grill with plenty of room, good food, and Mark, the owner, is very friendly and anxious to show us a good time.
They open their doors at 10:00 and drinks are available and COFFEE IS FREE! The grill isn't warmed up until 11 but they start taking lunch orders at 10:45. So I set a potential arrival time of 10:30 but if you want in on that free coffee you can get there as early as 10:00 and have time to invent some stories to share when everybody arrives.
I'll bring the website donation can again this week so if you haven't had a chance to support the website it will be available-totally voluntary, no pressure!

,RIDE REPORT: May 29, Paxico Longbranch, Paxico, Ks.
Even with quite a large number of ROMEO'S "riding around Nebraska", the beautiful weather and a perfect riding day made the trip to Paxico for lunch a destination ride for 25 ROMEOS. This is a quaint little downtown area and a really nice place for lunch. The staff was extremely hospitable and the coffee drinkers in the group appreciated the free coffee. Even though it's a 100+ mile ride for our members from the eastern side of our riding area, they were well represented.
Several of us took the long way home down to Hwy 4 and made a little pie stop in Dover. Not a bad way to cap off a nice day for a ride!
