OK, We've been there before, but this time I am going to add a little extra ride in conjunction with the lunch. The lady has said that she would like for us to show up for lunch at 12:30 like we did at Peabody. I think that it's nothing but right to honor their wishes also. So let's not cause any problem for her local folks that depend on her for lunch.. After all we don't have much going on that is so important that we couldn't give them an extra 30 min. I think that we need to set a standard for lunch in the future for our group for 12:30 pm from now on,
Some of you may remember the movie "Twister" about a tornado in the midwest. Well that movie was filmed at a small town in OKlahoma. The town of Wakita is south and east of Anthony Ks. about a 30 min ride from Anthony. I am going to have them to open the museum at about 2:00pm for anyone that would like to visit. The lady that runs it is very knowledgeable about the movie and the museum. I found her very interesting listening to the storys of the actors in the movie. To get to Wakita, go south from Anthony to the state line at Manchester then on south 8 miles. There is a new bridge on Highway #131 near the 8 mile line where you will make a left. Then take a blacktop east about 6 miles to Wakita OK.
Bob
The place for lunch is Kristy's Kafe
110 west Main st.
Anthony Ks. 67003

And i hope to see you there.. Bob

Meeting place and departure time for "Small Group A " (Bill Emond is "Small Group B " )--------- We will leave "BT's" MotorSports at 11:00 a.m. for a scenic ride to Anthony arriving at , or close to 12:30 p.m. for lunch... If we arrive at Anthony before 12:30 we can kick tires and re-live old lunch rides until the 12:30 designated TIME.... I think the 12:30 lunch time is a great move to help the restaurants take care of their local customers... CYA....

Anthony, Ks., well OK....
If you would like to ride there together, we could leave from the Phillip's 66 station on K42 just 1/2 m. west
of Maize Road on K42, it's on the north side, and is right at MacArthur Road.... Plan on leaving at 11:15,
that should get us there around 12:30..... We will again be riding two-lane blacktops at an easy pace.
For those wanting to leave from the north end together, we can leave from the Kwick-Shop at 37th street
north and Merridian at 10:45..... We will then head down to the K42 meeting site to hook up with any others
that might be there..... Again leaving from the Phillips 66 at 11:15.
I hope you can make it, Bill

WOW !!! What a fantastic day. We did a meandering route over to Andale (78 miles), and arrived just before 12:30.... Just right.
Guys, it would be appreciated, if you would try and sign the sign-in sheet that Bob carries with him, it helps greatly in determining how many are going on these rides so the ride co-ordinator has something to go by in letting the cafe owners know approximately how many ROMEO's they might expect. A perfect example was todays lunch. There were only 28 sign the sheet, and we knew there were way more than that. So John asked the lady at the cafe if she knew how many she served. She stopped and counted (in her head) each table that she knew for sure were with our group, and said there were either 38 or 39. Now that's way off from the 28 signers and more within what was thought were there, and possibly even more that were missed..... Just saying, OK ?
The pizza buffet must have been good, as there sure were a LOT of pizza's brought out and consumed. I was surprised that I didn't see a hamburger listed on their menu, but there were several other sandwiches listed that sounded very good. It was great seeing everyone again, and hope to see you next week too. I wasn't able to ride down to the museum with the others, so hopefully someone will chime in here with some details of what they seen there. I do wish I would have taken a better picture of ALL the bikes that were there, man, there were a bunch..... TOO COOL !!!
