The Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club will be hosting its monthly daylong motorcycle tour this coming Sunday, November 8th. Our meeting place is the Checker's Foods parking lot located at 2301 Louisiana Street, Lawrence, Kansas. Riders must be 18 or older and all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome!

Registration for Sunday's tour begins with rider sign-in at 9:00 a.m. and the tour will leave the parking lot promptly at 10:00 a.m. We have a scenic route planned that we had to cancel last year due to weather. Our route will wind through the glacial hills of northwest Missouri on State Route 116 over to Plattsburg. This tour is being billed as the "World's Longest Roller Coaster Ride." So, if you like twisty roads with lots of whoop-dee-doos---this tour is for you. This is a daylong tour that originates and ends in Lawrence, KS. Missouri is a helmet-law state, so be sure to bring your helmet along. Layered clothing is also recommended for our chilly morning departure. If the weather is inclimate, we will either shorten the intended route or duck into a breakfast spot somewhere until things warm up. In case of rain, we always reschedule for the following weekend.

Members of the KSGMC always ride for FREE. Guests are $20 for solo riders and $25 for two-up riders. Yearly fees are $50 and $75 respectively. If you join the same day, half of your one-day fee will be credited towards your 2010 membership. Also, be sure to pick up two or three of our Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club tee shirts for the upcoming holiday gift-giving season. Be sure to grab a few extras for your out-of-state motorcycle buddies. Club members receive discounts on all merchandise items.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the www.noaa.gov weather website is calling for an overnight low from Saturday into Sunday of 51 degrees with a Sunday daytime high of 71 degrees. This could end up being the riding day that we have waited for all season long, so plan now to come along. Be sure to tell your friends that since 1910, the Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club is still...

Leading the way!
