We had a small (20-30), but enthusiastic group at the Weston Cafe today. Although by the time we left it was nice, this morning it was 28 degrees when I left home. A smaller group is more intimate and it is nice to be able to get around and visit with everyone. It might have been good shopping in Weston that attracted Ginger, but she sure made the group look better. We had a good representation from the Eastern Kansas Romeos, Swanee (of course), "Indian" Mick, and the other Mick, Roger from Topeka and Bucky. If you look at the Eastern Kansas posts Bucky is looking for someone to take over Eastern Kansas Ride Coordinator. He says change is for the better, but I really think being Ride Coordinator is hampering his riding! Bucky has done a good job and everyone appreciates what he has done.Of course, George and Mike had breakfast at Wolfes and now it was time for lunch. The pancakes that almost covered the plate were very popular for breakfast. No one left hungry. We were surprised but so happy to see Mary. She had a BICYCLE fall which put her into intensive care :o Her arm is in a sling, but she was back with us today.

This weekend Melissa and I (and 6 other bikes, total 8 folks) went to the Moonshine Lunch Run in Moonshine, IL., population 2!! Only motorcycle riders understand, and I am not sure we understand, why we ride 1000 miles for a hamburger, but that's what Moonshine is. This year they estimated 3000 motorcycles would show up!! Below is a link to the pictures Missy took. Check out the white Gold Wing. That is an auxiliary gas tank and the license plate says 11,000 miles in 11 days!! And that was two up, his wife rode with him, they have done it twice and are planning on doing it again.

At lunch today Harold and the "Gardner Gang" was telling me about SPYDERFEST. This sound like a lot of fun and something you may want to check out. First of all it is close, Springfield, MO. Here is the link http://spyderfest.com/ I was intrigued by the Spyder Drag Races on Thursday. Harold says it is a lot of fun and last year there were over 300 SPYDERS!! Now that is real scary. The dates are on the flier but is starts 4/30

Guess Roger didn't stay to the firemen's chile dinner at Moonshine or he'd have reported the number on burgers served. New record this year - 3,251 hamburgers in just a little over 6 hours! That is 541+ per hours - or 9 per minute. Not bad for one family in a very small store. Be sure to stop by (they are open Mon - Sat 6:00 am - 1:00 pm) and tell Helen says hello. She may even give you a hug......
