Another year has rolled around and it's once again time to gather at Pomme de Terre lake in Hermitage Mo. for the 6th time!
Terry P. has already reserved the campsite for Fri. & Sat (April 25 &26). Rally fee is the same--$7.00 per person for either 1 or 2 nights and Terry plans to cook up some chicken soup/stew for Fri night. There are quite a few motels close by for those that are tent challanged, the Clearlight being the newest one. There is also the Lakeview, Pelican and Sunflower. Here is a link to the park location: http://www.rvparking.com/mo/hermitage/o ... terre-lake
Hope more can make it this year--the more the merrier! Cheers, :D Arkyleo

Terry informed me of an added "super deal" on Sat. Night April 26th of our meet/campout--Lucas Oil Speedway only a few miles from the campsite is having a special admission price of $30 for 4 people arriving b/4 6:30 pm which includes 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks. So any 4 (or multiples) can enjoy an evening of racing for $7.50 each. Here is a link to the Lucas page:

BUMP! We have experienced some really crappy weather in the past but this years event is a couple of weeks later than in the past and we expect nothing but the BEST weather Leo can provide. Right Leo? We are counting on you to not let us down - - again! Just kidding. Come on down one and all, camping or motelling, you will have a good time. Small event but growing, nothing formal but fun time. Hope to see more folks there.

I am looking forward to the fast/paced back/road criss/cross :) I even had a conflicting date with Big Santa. He lost...

Going home, other Greg probably had a sweet ride to St. Louis. Me on the other hand, as Terry CD (camp director) would confirm, route looked like a Georgia road map. And sure enough, I had to stop about 35 miles shy of Louisburg to add gear to start my free bike and trailer wash. The cold, wet, windy ride wasn't that bad, but the lightning was. I want to formally thank Louisburg Ford for the comfort of their covered sidewalk and the free WIFI. They both made my stay enjoyable. It was also good of our state troopers and local police to make sure my stay was beyond my wildest dreams. Thanks LEOs! So after a time of weather watching, snacks and drinks, Wifi and LEO visits, I was ready to hit the road, not only because I needed to get home, but to return to my stopping point before Louisburg to retrieve my pocket knife I had dropped. (I really like that knife). That was the worst part of my excursion I might add. That 70 mile roundtrip was a bummer. Thanks Arky and CD for another great campout and I look forward to Terry's infamous cheesy eggs and grits next year. Maybe you will add homemade sourdough biscuits too :)

Unlike "Santa Greg" I had a dry ride back home to Gassville--but it really dumped after I got in the garage! Here is a link to a few pix--I think we had 15 show up this year and the fish hatchery ride on Sat. was damp but interesting. Click on the link and select "slideshow" . Thanks Terry for all your work setting it up ! :D
