Howdy everybody;

Quite a turnout for the Eastern Kansas ROMEOs this morning. Corwin and I left Chanute at 7:30AM and we were fifth in line when we arrived at about 8:30AM. Larry Leeth was pontificating to the assembled multitude :mrgreen: until he noticed Corwin was back from vacation, and then turned his attention to him :ugeek: . We had a great time - about 35 bikes along with a crowded restaurant made it a successful trip. Here are some pics:

Gee, go figger! Larry Leeth pontificating, and Bucky released by space aliens who attempted a mind probe but couldn't stand the pain in THEIR heads! Some things are just predestined aren't they.

I was able to get a picture of the SPACE ALIEN CRAFT :shock: just after it released Bucky and Butch. Don't you think it is appropriate that it looks an awful lot like a manure spreader :lol:Is this the Sunflower Cafe :?:Everybody found the right place and had good food and good service. When we started out this morning it was a beautiful sunny 64 degrees and by the time we got to Le Roy it was all the way up to 68. It doesn't get much better than that.After breakfast a bunch of us headed over to Luther's Jerky. The guys I was with were buying it by the pound. They said in Kansas City it was $22 a pound.Luther's one and only plant it located in Le Roy. The smoking, cutting, seasoning and packaging is all done right here.One of Luther's toys is a SEGWAY. He encouraged everyone to try to ride it, but no one got very far.I think you can tell by the expressions that it is not as easy as it may look. Everyone had fun trying!!Something the ALIENS had left behind was the RAT CAR. Yes that is a shovel for the air intake and you might think the log chain holds the hood shut, but it doesn't. It does nothing :lol: Now have you ever seen prettier interior. The compressed air tank is to blow a variety of horns.Luther was very entertaining, loved showing off his toys and invited the whole group down to tour the plant and his lunch. He is very proud of his smoked meat.

If you haven't stopped at Luthers, do. The Jerky is good and it is a fun place. Make sure you ask to see the "petting zoo"

ROMEO's
I enjoy visiting the site, and the ride updates. I have been living in Santa Clara, CA for over a year now. Riding is great, but cost of housing is crushing! We can't figure out where the poor people live...
It has not rained here since March, and I have been able to ride most days while living out here.
I'll be back!
