I just called the Ramada Inn in Alpine, TX and he told me that while he has rooms set aside for the "Romeo Forester" group each individual must call and make their own specific reservations to hold the rooms. He told me that he has 11 rooms left available for that weekend. What that means is even though he is holding rooms for our group if he fills up and those rooms are not reserved he will issue them to paying customers - unless they are already reserved with a credit card.
So call them up and ensure you get your own room reserved!! 432-837-1100
As of last night (Thursday, Oct 25th) the manager said 19 of 20 rooms had checked in. We won't get good count probably until this evening or Saturday.
Interesting to note that when we rode thru Sanderson about 90 miles east of Alpine my bike showed 95 degrees out. When we pulled into Alpine about 4 pm the temp was 80 degrees. As I am writing this it is about 8 am and it is about 40 degrees outside. Supposed to be in the mid-30's tomorrow morning. Everybody is in great spirits though and ready to get out and ride!
