It started out cool and got colder as the altitude increased, but no one complained. Warren took us to Moorefield, WV on Old 55, which is a typical motorcyle route. When we got to Moorefield, John took over and we hopped up on Corridor H/Highway 48 on our way to Deep Creek Lake. We especially enjoyed the ride along the lake to the Greene Turtle Sports Bar in McHenry, MD.
We had never eaten at the Greene Turtle, and ended up there because so many places were closed on Wednesday or didn't open till later. It was a very nice place with a fireplace, and a good view of the lake. They even had video golf like we have at Trilogy.
After lunch we took a new route back to Winchester, which is definitely a "keeper". We enjoyed the fall color, the roads along the river, and over the mountains and through many small towns. We even took an unexpected detour to visit Romney Cycle. We had heard a lot about Romney Cycle but had never visited it. It is a very impressive store and they had a HUGE inventory of off road four-wheelers. They didn't have Harley's, BMW's, Goldwings or Spyder's, so we probably won't stop there again
It was a little windy, and it was getting late, so we had to pass on ice cream, or it would have been a perfect day.
