In the olden days, pre-covid, this building was a regular stop for the Romeo's. It was then called the Scranton Tavern, and I believe the last time we had a ride here was March, 2020! It was renamed the Drunken Bernard shortly after. It was then known for having one of the BEST HAMBURGERS in Eastern Kansas. Apparently that is still the case as rumor has it but they have plenty of other things on the menu if you aren't in a burger mood.

But I think it's high time we return to our roots and make our appearance on Brownie Blvd. in beautiful downtown Scranton next week. So if you have nothing better to do, then why don't you hang out for lunch with a bunch of old f***ts and have one of the best burgers around. Trust me, it will be good for you in the long run.

Here are the deets:

September 24 RIDE REPORT, Drunk Bernard Tavern, Scranton, KS

Post by schoolmaster »

The Drunk Bernard's reputation for good hamburgers should remain intact after today's lunch was in the books. Those burgers are about as good as they get and the other food lived up to its billing as well. The daily special, goulash, seemed to be a popular choice as well and was apparently quite tasty.

At last count there were 33 ROMEO's that made it out for lunch but the staff handled us very nicely, although it did take a while to get everyone fed. But I heard no complaints and everyone seemed to have a nice time socializing while they were waiting for lunch. We definitely won't wait 5 years to make it back next time!

It was a nice ride to get there and there was a little bit of precipitation as people were leaving, but it didn't seem to last too long. All things considered, it was a great day to be a ROMEO!!

I WAS NOT KIDDING WHEN I TOLD YOU THE HAMBURGERS LIVED UP TO THEIR REPUTATION!

IT'S NOT OFTEN THAT TWO ROMEO COORDINATORS ARE ALLOWED TO BE THIS CLOSE TOGETHER FOR SECURITY REASONS. HOWEVER, THEY DID HAVE THEIR BODYGUARDS CLOSE BEHIND.
