Every year the LF Motorcycle Club has visited the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA and I had heard of this ride to the 911 Memorial in NYC via the Pentagon. I decided to do it this ride this year, but I was too late and couldn't get enough information. John O. suggested that we do a ride over to Leesburg and watch the procession go by. I thought that was a good way to see what it was like. So off we went.

John planned a very nice ride to Leesburg. Phyllis had raised her children in Loundoun Cty and provided a lot of "color" to the ride. She could tell you a lot about Waterford and St. Louis. Loudon Cty is so pretty and has some beautiful estates. We were very glad Phyllis came with us.

John had made reservations at Shenanigans. It was great that he did, because when we arrived promptly for our 12:00 reservation, the restaurant was PACKED :!: Thanks, John.

After a really good lunch, John took us the perfect place to view the procession. John knew the procession would come through Leesburg between 1:45 and 2:15 and we were ready. John had seen the procession several times and was interviewed by the local paper.

This was a very nice motorcycle ride. John did an excellent job of guiding us through Leesburg and all it's traffic. Of course, as always I compliment the riders who did an great job of following John's lead. I was very proud that the Lake Frederick Motorcycle Club was represented at this event the First Responders.

I took a video of the ENTIRE procession!! You may not want to watch the whole thing. It is over 5 minutes long 600 motorcycles :!: But here it is

I am planning on joining this ride next year, from Shanksville to the 911 Memorial in New York. I am going to make my motel reservations in the next 30 days. I am told most of the participants make their reservations when they checkout for the next year. If you are interested and want me to share my information with you, let me know.
