Option A this week is Amsterdam Cafe, one of our favorite ROMEO spots. I don't really believe it, but the current forecast is for a high of 78 on Tuesday! I have scheduled for lunch at 11:00 but of course Amsterdam will serve you whenever you arrive. It will be great to get back here. We haven't been since August. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.

Option B this week is an old favorite, Dino's Diner in Cameron, MO. We have not been there since May of 2023.They serve breakfast all day so let's meet there at 10:00. Weather looks promising for a springish ride up to Cameron. See you all there and be safe!

where are we going? Amsterdam or Cameron? Where is Amsterdam Mo?
Re: Tue 2/27/24 Amsterdam Cafe, Amsterdam, MO or Dino's Diner, Cameron, MO
I responded via email directly to Dave addressing his specific questions but I would like to address the basic ROMEO philosophy for newcomers.
This quote for Jerry (our webmaster) from the Nov 2008 post announcing the KC ROMEOs sums it up nicely:"No rules, no organization, no dues - we will just announce a place and where ever you are from just come and eat. Doesn't matter what you ride - any bike will do. The whole purpose is just to have an excuse to go someplace for no other reason than to eat, chat with a few people, and take a different way home." The bike is not a requirement. As we age, many of us opt to for 4 wheels, and we have even seen farm tractors and bicycles at ROMEO lunches. Also check out the ROMEO home page for another description of the organization. https://romeoriders.com/ In early 2018 the Kansas City ROMEOS had grown enough that we were overloading some of the smaller restaurants. We decided to split into a north and a south group and set up two locations each Tuesday. Occasionally we get together as a combined group, but usually you have two options. You can pick one or the other and are also welcome to make both if you want--no rules!
The ROMEO website also posts a location of all upcoming ROMEO destinations that includes the name, address, time, and a map showing location and some additional information. The link is: https://tinyurl.com/wd4hsez and it is continually updated as new rides are announced. Check it out and play with it a little to see what it offers.
We are proud of this amazing and fairly unique organization. It requires a great deal of commitment from a lot of people to keep it running but mostly it grows because YOU come and enjoy our weekly gatherings and because you tell others and bring or encourage them to come and enjoy what we all have found.
Thanks to everyone!

Today we had a beautiful February day to enjoy our trip to Cameron, MO. We had 11 riders on trikes or Bikes, I did not get photos of all of them I missed 3. There was a total of 20 ROMEO's enjoying a meal and conversation. The food and service was up to Dino's usual standards, very good!

Re: Tue 2/27/24 Amsterdam Cafe, Amsterdam, MO or Dino's Diner, Cameron, MO
I was late for lunch at Amsterdam Cafe this morning and Loud tells me my excuses are unacceptable so I won't burden you with them. However, the consequences are that I didn't get a count of how many ROMEOs or bikes were there. Some had left before I got there but we probably totaled 30 or so. As usual the food and service were excellent. As I arrived I was met by Ryan, a local shopkeeper, who was really curious why all these motorcycles showed up in town--now he knows. I was especially delighted that Carol R joined us. The last to arrive were Dave & Carol B. They are brand new ROMEOs and we visited for about an hour -- then I forgot to get their picture [typical ]. I did get pictures of their rides, though. I put on some miles after lunch and lined up two new restaurants. I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I.
