WOO HOO! I got my 2000 Guzzi Quota fired up. I finally bit the bullet and coughed up the cash for a new battery at Atwoods. I went a little light and it's only a 9 amp hour battery, but it cranks the bike over easily. If I get a year out of it I'm OK with that. I'm not running any extra electrics or anything. I did have to disassemble the blinker switch to clean and lube it. It was getting a little sticky. 23 year old bike. Throw some fresh oil and a filter in her and she's good for the road. I might get my bucket list trip in yet. I still have to make the mounts for a couple extra gas cans though. I don't want to cut my gas supply as close as I did last time. I was on the Burr Trail in Utah and by the time I got back to civilization I had a quart left in the tank. That's when I learned that when going through the desert DON'T PASS GAS! You never know where the next gas is.
We're on for a morning ride for tomorrow. Hopefully I can shake the cobwebs out for an 8:45 launch from the Rodeway Inn.
If you're meeting at the launch site, don't wait for me. Terry Powell, Ken Boss and I are going to "do it in the dirt".
