Re: Lunch 11 AM June 4, Vassar, Ks.

Kansas City Coordinator Roger Shores called Breck's Green Acres Restaurant one of the Eastern Kansas ROMEO "foundation" places. He was right on target in that prediction. When I pulled up about 10:20 I saw only one motorcycle parked in front and thought we might have a pretty light turnou...

Lunch 11 AM June 4, Vassar, Ks.

Since May 28 was Bucky's last lunch to set up, and no one has stepped up to take over, it looks like we might not have anything set up for next week, Wednesday, June 4. So I have set up a lunch ride at 11:00 AM. Breakfast eaters are welcome to show up earlier and 10:30 seems to be a pretty good &qu...

Re: Lunch 11am May 28th Dover,Ks

Well, between 35 and 40 ROMEO's showed up at Sommerset Hall Cafe in Dover because it's Bucky's favorite place. Plus, he says this is his last ride as EK Coordinator, so we had to have a good showing. This has to be one of the most beautiful times of the year to ride in rural Kansas, and Hwy. 4 has ...

Re: Lunch 11:00 am 05/23/2014 at The Nu Grill Fort Scott, Ks

I was sitting at the fabulous Nu Grill enjoying my 2 piece broasted chicken special, mashed potatoes and white gravy, and green beans, minding my own business, and Lyle says,"You need to take some pictures and post them since no else is doing a ride report." I tried to explain that this w...

Re: Lunch 11am May 21st Williamsburg, Ks

Bucky is always right. This is one of our favorite places, as evidenced by the fact that 50 motorcycles graced Main Street of Williamsburg, centered around Guy and Mae's Barebutt Barbecue! Based upon the number of two ups and one four-wheeler, the number was probably up around 60. Nothing like temp...

I posted the ride report so late for the Whiting lunch that it bumped this week's post down. Since Bucky is out of town, I'll see if this reply bumps it back to the top!

Re: Lunch 10 to 11am May 14th Whiting, Ks

Well, if there's a better day in Kansas to ride than today, I don't know when it would be. No wind, slightly overcast, temps in the high 50's/low 60's makes for a pretty darn good day to ride. ROMEO's are a pretty well behaved bunch. Bucky asked for half at 10 and half at 11 and that's about what h...

Re: Lunch 11am May 7th Reading, KS

Wow! As Oral Roberts slogan says, "Expect a Miracle". And between Oral Roberts and nice weather, it brought out a huge crowd for lunch at the Miracle Cafe in Reading. Hoser was the official motorcycle counter today and he came up with 48 so with the number of 2 ups we had, that should hav...

I didn't want to give out incorrect information about happenin's in Wamego this weekend. It is not the Tulip Festival. That was two weeks ago. This weekend is the Kansas Sampler Festival, which is also a big deal if you've never been to one before. http://www.kansassampler.org/festival/

Re: Lunch 11am April 30th Wamego, Ks

I think the threatening rain clouds this morning may have deterred some from making the trip to the Friendly Cooker in Wamego. Also a few of our regulars are whoopin' 'n hollerin' in Branson today. So there were 12 hardy souls who braved the threatening clouds to join up for lunch. Although there w...

Re: Lunch 11am April 16th Westmoreland, Ks

Today was the perfect day for riding, especially if you had a large sail and were willing to "tack" to your destination. But 30 mph winds with gusts up to 45 coming up from the south didn't seem to stop the 25 ROMEO'S who made it to Westmoreland today for breakfast/lunch.DS...

Well, everyone must have noticed that temps were going to be in the high 70's and skies were going to be clear because there were A LOT OF ROMEO'S out looking for a chance to visit and eat breakfast/lunch. I usually try to get a count but there were so many bikes parked around the Saddle Rock Cafe ...

The weather man was right. It was raining, but that didn't stop 15 ROMEO'S from meeting for lunch at Cutter's Smokehouse in Eudora. They arrived on a total of 56 tires, an average of 3.73 tires per ROMEO.D...

Re: Lunch 11am March 19th Mayetta,Ks

It turned out to be a beautiful day to ride although it was a bit chilly in the morning with temps in the low 40's and breezy. That didn't stop about 26 ROMEO'S from making the trek to the Whistle Stop Cafe in Mayetta. Most everyone hung around after breakfast/lunch for quite a while and visited. L...

As I walked around in my yard this morning, I noted coming out of the snow, two or three crocus in bloom. When I pulled into the parking lot of the Baldwin Diner this morning, I noted parked in the parking lot, like crocus, three motorcycles parked in the lot amidst a sea of sedans and pickups.[att...

Re: Club 4 Corners Wed Feb 26th 11:00 am

Thoughts of riding crossed my mind this morning until (a) I looked out the window and saw snow on the street, and opened my garage door and (b) a blast of 12 degree wind hit me in the face and discretion took the place of valor. So I pulled my hat down real low and slinked into my pickup to join 20...
