We had a tremendous turnout last week and enjoyed the warmer weather. And now for next week’s ride we can do it all over again, with the temperatures being even warmer. I hate being a bearer of bad news, but for those of you who haven’t heard, Tammy is retiring and is closing the cafe February 29th. So, it’s only reasonable that we pay our last respects and offer our farewells and support at our next Wednesday ride.

This restaurant has always been a favorite and has offered good American food for over half a century now. They have the best breakfast and lunch with generous portions daily. So, what do you say we saddle up and ride over to “Tammy’s Cafe,” at Billard’s Airport in Topeka to say our last good-bye’s.

With no rain, ice or snow to contend with, it’s more than probable for all of us to gather together for Breakfast or Lunch and to give Tammy a good send off to a well-deserved retirement. So, come on out to Tammy’s Cafe for some good country cooking . . . I hope everyone can make it.

It was a well-deserved time of celebration for Tammy, her daughter, and all her hardworking staff! It was interesting to see not only our 30 something Romeos, but even more impressive was seeing the turnout of all Tammy’s loyal supporting friends and customers. The house was packed for most of the morning and all through the noon hour.

Ever since Tammy announced her retiring and closing the cafe, the place has been packed with her friends and fans. It was said by some of the locals that this building has been packed for the last two weeks. She has never been so busy! This small community and many of us who have frequented this place over the years are going to miss Tammy and her staff in the months ahead.

Here are the photos showing what the day looked like:
