We will be heading for Leavenworth for our next week’s ride and eating our lunch at the Little Steakhouse that’s just across the way from the “Big House” in Leavenworth.

Here is a little tidbit about this place. "It was opened in 1999 by Dustin Hundley, the owner, who worked hard to get the business started. It is told that he even lived in the basement during the first few years to get the Steakhouse on its feet! His goal was to run a great small-town steakhouse with hand-cut steaks, homemade sides and more." I’ve heard even the burgers are a smashing hit here.

OK! Weather wise there should be no complaints, because it will feel like “Springtime” in the middle of winter! The forecast tells us it will be pushing the 60’s if not exceeding it. A great time to ride! So, may all your trails be happy ones and hope to see you there!

A CAVEAT: Those of you who may be asking about Marty, our coordinator for the NC Kansas Romeos, the answer is from all indications, he only has 4-6 weeks to live after having a long battle with fighting cancer. May our thoughts & prayers be with him and all his family members.

Our turnout today was phenomenal and went beyond all expectations! I speculate the reason for the huge turnout was the excellent February weather we are experiencing. Nevertheless, it was good seeing everyone while at the same time enjoying the delightful temperatures.

I stopped counting heads after the number 30. Later a final official count was given totaling 36. Swanee from Topeka took a count out in the parking lot totaling 18 bikes. The food was excellent, and the service was fabulous. We were all served in a timely manner in spite of a huge, unexpected crowd.
