Ok, here is a great place to eat. Log cabin atmosphere and John Wayne memorabilia everywhere, including the sign out front. Highly recommend by some of the truckers who routinely pass-by. And there is always ample parking. Breakfast is served all day long and most of us know, having been here before, that the food has always been good and at a reasonable price!

The weather looks like it’s going to be another hot summer day, so I’m thinking of joining the “Early Birds” again and getting out of the mid-day heat. Those of you who enjoy getting toasted by the hot summer heat can join the “Lunch Bunch,” at 11 am or after! There is always a choice for everyone, just pick your flavor. If you haven’t already heard, you should know the Romeo Riders’ motto: “Come when you want to, leave when you want to, kick tires or tell stories when you want to,” it’s all about the destination & the ride! And nothing said about the friendly comradery after getting there.

Ok, here is the scoop for today’s ride. For the record . . . I finally achieved an almost impossible task. I finally earned the “Early Bird Badge of Honor,” along with 4 others, by arriving the earliest at one of our weekly Romeo destinations. Can you believe it, this is not easy. Try it sometime. It’s taken me better than 2 years to accomplish this task! Ok, Ok! I can hear some of you saying, “So what, do you want a Badge or Chest to pin it on?”

On that happy note . . . it was a pleasant ride this morning but then turned tremendously warm after lunch. Michelle, our waitress, was inundated by having to work two groups at the same time all by herself. A road crew came in unexpectantly at the same time we arrived that she was not expecting. There were about 20 or so of them and 18 of us. I’m assuming they were a road crew getting off after working the night shift. But Michelle did a fabulous job taking care of all of us. We Romeos pitched in to help her with serving water and coffee and we were all served in a timely manner, considering the situation.

Mike Herman and I were the last to leave at 11:30 am. The temperatures were already in the 90’s. I trust everyone made it home without any heat related complications. Here are the photos showing how the day played out.
