Ok, this may be new to some of us so welcome to Kelly’s in Basehor for our next week’s ride! If we have been here It’s been a long time ago. I tried finding it in the archives as to the last time we were there, and it came up with zero. For over 25 years this place has been serving up the finest home-cooked meals and tasty drinks to the hungry and thirsty patrons! This a great place to stop for lunch and dinner. They pride themselves on customer service and great food. Yes, it's that simple. Their friendly staff and delicious home-style meals will have you coming back to visit again and again. Until then, “Happy Trails” to everyone. Hope to see you there.
Jerry Matson, who developed our ROMEO RIDER WEBSITE while he lived here in KC, and is now living in Texas, will be stopping here for old time’s sake to join us for lunch this coming Wednesday. Then he will continue on his way to a group rally in northern Iowa. Some of us knew Jerry when he lived in KC and rode on Romeo rides with us.
Jerry with Leland & Salina.
A CAVEAT: If you’re thinking about riding to the “National Motorcycle Museum” in Anamosa, IA, you’ll need to let Al Robertson know ASAP, the 27th is just a little under two weeks away! All the details are on our WEBSITE under the topic, “NMC MUSEUM & WING’D RIDE.”

What a turnout! Having Jerry Mattson with us, a long time Romeo and developer of our most enjoyable WEBSITE, made the day even more interesting. This gave us all another chance to express our gratitude and appreciation for all his long and tireless work on behalf of all of us Romeos!
When I booked this ride I told the restaurant that we’ve been having some pretty good crowds lately, around 15-30 riders sprinkling in between the hours of 11am to noon. At the time I thought I might have exaggerated the number a bit. But boy howdy, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, everyone seemed to be showing up all at the same time and many were already there waiting on us!
All-In-All, today’s count came in with 35 bikes and stop counting. The last count for riders came in with 50 and no one even counted any cars. I almost started to feel guilty for telling the restaurant a lie as to our number of riders, but then I was reminded that a lie is intentional and the number I gave them was an estimate and unintentional. Furthermore, it was so good to see everyone’s overwhelming interest for today’s event. Hope everyone enjoyed today’s ride as I did and made it home safely!
