MARCH 22ND, BREAKFAST or LUNCH, 10:00 AM, BRADLEY’S CORNER CAFE, TOPEKA, KS‬

Post by Al Hayes »

The next Wednesday ride is to visit Bradley’s in Old Town, Topeka, which is north of the river. This is not a big place, but since our last visit they’ve added another room, so it should hold us nicely. I’m told they do serve breakfast and lunch, but if you've never been to Bradley's, their specialty is fresh baked pie, not to mention their cinnamon rolls (unless maybe you're watching your girlish figure)!

Weather will be pushing 60º, and I’m really grateful that this ride won’t be in the 20’s. That’s worth celebrating over a cup of coffee and some delicious fresh bakery goods. So, “Happy Trails” to you all and hope to see you next Wednesday at Bradley's.

Wow! What a day that has just unfolded! Even a cold misty morning didn't trash the day for many of our brave and loyal “Romeos.” To spiritually express it, I’m convinced that it would take a whole lot more than a little nasty weather to keep us from a time of sharing … “breaking bread together.”

Hey, I’ve got a story to share with those of you who weren’t able make the ride. I think you will like this. We had the most pleasant surprise today. About halfway through our delicious meals, the waitress came out to inform us that everyone’s meal had been paid for by a very generous and kind lady customer. Wow again! There surely are some kind and thoughtful people in the world. She made our day! Her generosity reminds me of an age-old saying that goes like this: “for every cloud there’s a silver lining.”

Well, life is quite an adventure isn’t it? People like this lady have a way of taking the good pleasures of life and passing them on to others, making their lives more enjoyable. Ok, I think it best for me to stop now so I don’t go to preaching. Let’s all look at the photo’s to see what history has put together for us. It’s “Show & Tell Time.”
