This week we have a double header for rides. The “Polar Bear Ride” and now Jefferson’s in Lawrence, our very first weekly ride for the “New Year.” Most of you already know from last year, there will always be a destination ride posted no matter what the weather conditions are. It’s your call in using your own good judgement as to whether conditions are suitable for riding or not. I’m sure I don’t need to remind anyone about safety. If the weather should get ugly, we all have our own "comfort zones”, and I have the utmost confidence that all of us will follow our own best judgement and to ride at our own risk.

Ok, that being said, If you haven’t been to Jefferson’s, you will find an easygoing, warm & welcoming establishment specializing in oysters, chicken wings & burgers. Their burgers are hand-patted fresh daily, ground beef never frozen. If you crave excellent chicken wings, I’ve heard that Jefferson’s in West Lawrence has the best anywhere.

I’m looking forward to another good year of riding together. The weather will be a little chillier than New Year’s Day (30’s for a high). So, you’ll want to bundle up a little more than our New Year’s ride as you head out to Jefferson’s. But don’t let that keep you from venturing out and making the best of your day. “Happy Trails” to you all and hope to see you there!

Just got back from our Jefferson’s ride. It was a little cool, but it got up to 48 degrees and with heated gear it was quite do-able! It was good to see everyone’s gleeful and happy faces again. It was a really uplifting time today gathering ourselves together for another fun and exciting year. I trust everyone enjoyed the holiday festivities while visiting with some of your family and friends. Also, I hope you took a little timeout for some rest and relaxation. I know I did; it was just what the “doctor ordered” and it was really rejuvenating.
