South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, October 12, 11:00 AM

Now that we have some more temperate weather, we're heading back to a ROMEO favorite for lunch next Wednesday: Lila's, in Piedmont. They like to see us, the food is always good, and it should be a nice ride through the tail end of the Flint Hills.

Lila's will have a special meal for us, as usual. It's difficult for them to handle a group our size ordering off the menu, and whatever they fix will be good. I don't know if Lila's is set up to take credit cards, so it would be a good idea to have some cash on hand. (I personally prefer to pay with cash at the mom and pop restaurants; I'd rather not have the credit card company skimming four percent off the top.)

Piedmont is just south off of US 400, about 55 miles east of Wichita. The road to Piedmont is ten or fifteen miles east of the Beaumont turnoff, and then there's a short ride south into town.

As always Lila's Café treated us a meal we all enjoyed. The meal was served promptly, and priced at a very fair price. Always, ALWAYS a delight to visit Lila's in Piedmont. Lets do it again next spring!!

We had 22 ROMEO's ride in on 22 bikes today. The total one way mileage to Lila's for the 22 bikes was 1358 miles. Larry rode his Goldwing from Dalton to Lila's a respectable 91 miles to secure top mileage rider. All riders rolled more than 50 miles to arrive at Lila's. A great day to ride, sunny and the wind was acceptable too. And we know it will be cold soon so today was a real pleasure ride. Thanks to all for attending today.
