SEPT 28 BREAKFAST OR LUNCH 10:00 AM, MIRACLE CAFE, READING KS

Post by swanee »

Forecast so far is a lot better than June 22 when wet weather didn't make for much of a riding day but several bikes made it to Reading anyway.

Let's try it again, and I bet we get a few more. The Miracle Cafe has survived the worst that mother nature, pandemic and KDOT can hurl at them yet they're open for business still serving tasty meals that are worth a ride out to Reading KS. They've earned their name and they deserve our business! Should be a real nice ride the way things are looking right now so come on out for breakfast (served until 11) or lunch, great homemade pies, whatever you like at:

Good turnout in Reading on a perfect day. People were arriving at different times and parking in different places in the little town and I didn't get a count. Some got there a little later than they expected to because they ran into detours like that closed section of Hwy 31 between 75 and Osage City. Apparently some GPS apps don't know about that stretch being closed but it does show up on the kandrive.org map. That's a place you can look to check for red circles with a bar if you're heading out in a direction you haven't been lately.

Detours on a lovely day notwithstanding, hopefully all of us who headed out for Reading got there eventually and enjoyed a tasty lunch and/or breakfast at Miracle Cafe. Lee H. said our group has been going there since it was located in a little house, before the big tornado hit Reading, and the Miracle Cafe is a place that's still worth going to!
