Neighborhood Café, Lee’s Summit, MO
Option A – This weeks restaurant is a place that we haven’t been to in almost 10 years as near as I can tell. Roger rated it an “A” and other ROMEOs agree that it is a great place. Breakfast or lunch, 9:30 should be a good time. It looks like the heat is going to take a break but it might be wet. The 10-day weather forecast is for a high of 79 and a 50% chance of rain. 2, 3, or 4 wheels—grab a jacket and come join us.

Option B this week will be 169 Cafe in Smithville, MO. We were last there in May of this year and Pam the owner said she would love to have us back. Breakfast is served all day, but is a limited breakfast after 11:00 (no pancakes or french toast), so I think 9:30 is a good time, later if you want lunch. Like Long John pointed out, chance of rain, they have a large parking lot, so 2, 3 or 4 wheels, lets go!

As predicted it was cool and wet this morning. We had 15 at the Neighborhood Cafe for breakfast this morning. I left before any of the usual lunch group showed up so we may have had more. It was good to see Sally B. (Loud's wife) this morning--it's always so much quieter when she comes along. Dan's brother, Pete, also came. According to Dan, Pete is a RODEO (Retired Old Dentist Eating Out). Pete provided some tips on controlling screaming children but the boundaries may have changed since he was trained. My apologies to the whole group. Part of my job is to take pictures and today I didn't. I stood up to take them and then started visiting and forgot why I was standing. Let's make it part of your job to remind me, okay? I did stop for a picture on the ride home so I'll share it instead.

While I'm farm sitting for a friend, Wanda took some great pictures of the Romeos at 169 Cafe. She sent me this with the e-mail.
"We had 16 Romeos good food but service was not so good, one new waitress and a friend who came to eat breakfast and stayed to help pour coffee and water to help out the owners and take pressure off the new waitress. Two of their help called in sick."
One of the questions I always ask now is "do you have enough help?" The owner said she did, but you really can't count on people to show up anymore, sorry for the poor service.

No need to apologize Bob, it’s not your fault.

Your picture is better than all of us (except for Sallie). I'd love to know how you got off the GW and kept the doe in the road for the picture? Must be photo shopped, your bike is clean!
