South Central Breakfast Ride: Wednesday, August 3, 9:30 AM

Post by roginoz »

One of our riders has requested a northern destination this week to move them a little further towards Sturgis. It's been a long time since we visited the Main Street Cafe in Durham, so it's a good fit for both reasons. They still have homemade sausage we like, and cinnamon rolls, in addition to a full breakfast menu. There's usually a really good daily special, which will help you get fed and back on the road a bit faster if you have places to go.

The cafe is in downtown Durham, on Douglas Street, just west of the highway (K15) a block or so. (Douglas is the main north/south street.) Durham is a little over sixty miles from Wichita, an hour or less by motorcycle. If you're looking for the quick route, I-135 north to Newton and then K-15 from just north of Newton to Durham will get you there.

The Main Street Cafe was ready and went into dealing service second to none other. Odd for me was, I ordered an Omelet and that is all I received. She did not mention that they sell each item we order; toast, hash brown taters, biscuit and so on. So I paid $10.60 for an omelet with no trimmings.

Amazing day to ride a motorcycle!! We had 15 ride in on 15 bikes. I call myself the distance rider at 74 one way miles. All riders were 60 to 70 miles.

Roger will post a new destination, I'll pass next week as I go to the rally in Sturgis. You guys have fun and enjoy the meal.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
