Junior's Fish Fry: Wednesday, October 25, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Posted: Wed Oct 18, 2017 6:31 pm
It's time for Junior Wege's annual fish fry. We'll meet in Oxford at the Lions Club, 116 N. Sumner St. It's on the main drag, north of Highway 160, on the east side of the street. (If you get lost in Oxford, you'd best start riding with a group...)
Junior and Shirley will cook fish, hushpuppies, scalloped potatoes, and beans. If you'd like to bring something, dessert or a side dish is appropriate. If you're riding something without luggage space, don't worry – there's always plenty of food. Lunch will be served from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM; this should accommodate the early birds and those who need to travel a ways to Oxford.
Judging by the quantity of fish each year, Junior must be a pretty good fisherman. Judging by the quality of what we've had in recent times, he's also a pretty good cook. If you haven't been to one of the fish fries, be sure to come – everyone has a great time. The food is great, and to my knowledge, no one has ever gone home hungry.
The fish fry goes on, rain or shine. If the weather happens to be less than ideal for riding, you all have four wheel vehicles. Riding in the rain is also an option, although I've found it doesn't impress our group much...
