It's been a little under a year since we rode to Durham; sounds like it's time for breakfast at the Main Street Cafe. The cafe is in downtown Durham, on Douglas Street, just west of the highway (K15) a block or so. Douglas is the main north/south street.

Durham is a little over sixty miles from Wichita, an hour or less by motorcycle. If you're looking for the quick route, I-135 north to Newton and then K-15 from just north of Newton to Durham will get you there.

The Main Street Cafe has plenty of seating for our group, but the kitchen is small and there's just one cook. They'll have a breakfast casserole (which is very good) like the last time we visited. Ordering the special will get you served more quickly. A side order of their homemade sausage is also worth consideration. Try not to arrive too much before 8:30, when the locals clear out after breakfast, so we don't put too much strain on the staff and facilities.

9:00 AM, Wednesday, July 12

This had to be the hottest ride of the year, but thirty-nine of us (on thirty-seven bikes) made it to Durham for breakfast. The bikes traveled a total of 2523 miles, one way, to the Main Street Cafe. The food was good (the breakfast special included a homemade cinnamon roll,) as was the company. Charlie will have some photos to post, and I'll get next week's ride announcement up within a day or two.

Photos (many, I got carried way this week).

Bike of the week: 2012 Honda Goldwing converted to trike. Romeo Owner Mike Campbell.
Mike bought it new in 2015 with only 9 miles showing, it was 'new old stock'. Pretty Trike!

Finished with 4 photos of Durhams own Mr. Fit-It Hein, a local businessman across from the Main Street Cafe. Interesting business-
