South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday June 21, 11:00 AM

After lunch last Wednesday I received the same request from three riders, ‘Let’s go to Lila’s in Piedmont!’ So, let’s ride to Lila’s in Piedmont this Wednesday. This will be a lunch only ride; she stops breakfast at 10 AM and wants to have time to make a couple specials for us to choose from. And Lila’s is a cash only eatery, so bring your cash. Most have been to Lila’s so you know it’s a real hoot, expect to have a fantastic lunch and a great time.

Piedmont is an hour ride east of Wichita on 400. The current weather suggests light wind and hot temperature of near 100 degree. Let’s start the bikes and enjoy the scenic ride. I hope to see you there. Charlie

We had thirty-eight people, on thirty-six motorcycles, show up in Piedmont for an excellent lunch. The bikes traveled a total of 2332 miles (one way) to Lila's. Really good chicken fried steak, homemade mashed potatoes, green beens, a roll, pie, and iced tea for nine bucks! And, we were all served quickly. We'll probably head back to Lila's for breakfast in the next couple of months; it's a nice ride, and everyone seems to like the place.

Speaking of breakfast, we're going to switch to breakfast rides a week early. Early June was fairly temperate, but summer has arrived with a vengeance. I'll have next week's BREAKFAST ride announcement in a couple of days. Meanwhile, enjoy Charlie's photos, which should be posted soon. By the way: Thanks to Charlie for handling ride scheduling and reports the last few weeks.
