We went to Richmond and visited Daddy's in August of last year and it was a great experience, so let's enjoy their hospitality again. The weather guessers are forecasting rain on Monday, so if they're right, we might get a decent day to ride on Tuesday. If not, come in your cage as this place is worth the trip with great food and service. I just talked to Donna, and she said their lunch special will again be hamburger steak with grilled onions and mushrooms starting at 11; otherwise, breakfast served all day. Berg, a Romeo transplant from Wichita and now a regular with our group, had such a good time :) and enjoyed the food so much, he had the BARN BURNER for breakfast and stayed around long enough to have the HAMBURGER STEAK, with grilled onions, mushrooms and brown gravy for LUNCH!

So come when you want, before or after 10:30 but remember the lunch menu starts at 11!

AFTER LAST NIGHT'S STORM(S), THERE ARE MANY WHO WILL APPRECIATE THIS MESSAGE!

When we heard the news about all the storms around the area and after hearing the schools in Richmond were closed, we wondered if Daddy's had sustained any damage. I picked up the phone and called and they assured me they were open and expecting us and said a couple Romeo's had already arrived. Mary just got over a lung infection and we didn't want to take a chance riding the bike in the 40-degree air when we left, so we drove the truck as did several others. Junior and Berg were already there and soon more drifted in. Daddy's parking lot was pretty full when we arrived due to the power outage and storm damage north of town. Many locals came in for some comfort food and to warm up. Some had been without power during the night. Daddy's had several tables pulled together for us and we filled them up quickly and overflowed to other tables although we didn't fill the place like last year which allowed more local residents to continue to fill in empty tables. I think all felt the food was good and the sisters, Donna and Sherry, took care of all the customers as best they could. We hope nobody lost their homes and pray all can recover or rebuild as soon as possible. Everyone asked about Randy as no one seemed to know and his absence is unusual. I just got off the phone and he is still recovering from a serious viral lung infection that has kept him down for the past few weeks. :( He is still staying close to home but feels it is improving slowly. He is anxious to get better and rejoin all his Romeo friends. His presence (and Carol's) is surely missed. Here are a few pictures I took with my phone. Bob and Wanda may add more if they want. Thanks to all who braved the cool morning temperatures. Daddy's appreciated the business and said we were welcome anytime.

Not much to add to Gary's post, other than Wanda and I didn't sit at a small table to be stand offish.....it was romantic! Coming in to Richmond, we didn't see much storm damage, so after lunch we drove around the area west of 13 highway that sustained the most damage. Our hearts go out to all the people who had storm damage and are hurting in Richmond.
