South Central Lunch: Wednesday, March 1, 11:00 AM

It's time to head east, but I thought we should stay close to home in case March comes in like a lion instead of a lamb. Spring is on its way, but it may not be here just yet. The Benton airport is about twenty miles from Wichita, the food's good, and there's room for whatever size group shows up. Ride or drive, based on the weather and your inclination on Wednesday morning.

Stearman Field has burgers, salads, and sandwiches (I recommend the Ruben,) in addition to pizza and some other menu items. Breakfast is served until 11:00, if you arrive early.

As usual, we'll be in the south patio room, which has plenty of space in case we want to hang around and shoot the bull after lunch. It's also a good place to watch takeoffs and landings, if there's any aircraft activity. Also, a reminder: Stearman Field normally adds the tip automatically for groups our size (but not always,) so check your ticket.

Not as warm as last week, but still a good day to ride. We had twenty-seven people, and seventeen bikes, show up at the Benton Airport today. The bikes traveled a total of 481 miles, one-way, to the Stearman Field Cafe. The food was good, as was the service. (I'm counting the jalapenos in my omlette as a green vegetable...) Charlie will have photos posted soon, and I'll have next week's ride announcement up in a couple of days. (Weather and restaurant availability permitting, we're heading west.)

Totally agree with Roger, nice ride day, especially the ride home. 4 of us took the longer way home via Thunder Road.
See you next week. Photos-
