While Roger is still basking in the sun and frolicking on the beach at Padre Island, we are trying out some new places. Mary and I visited Perky's last year but felt it might be too small for our group, especially on a good riding day; however, we recently found they have added another room, and although it's still not huge, it should be large enough (seating capacity of 110) as long as we all don't walk in at one time. They open at 6:30 A.M. and close at 3 P.M., and serve breakfast all day, so we should all be able to get something to eat and drink as long as we stay patient, which is not hard for a ROMEO. :D This is considered a day for romance, so come with your favorite friend and be prepared for a real heart warming treat. Perky's is on the far northeast corner of the strip mall and they assure me you can park anywhere (i.e. open parking allowed) around the center as space limited in front of the cafe.

AND for those who are so inclined, they are also taking reservations for a prime rib dinner for two starting at 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. if you're interested, but don't wait too long as they may be full and it's reservations only, no tickets sold at the door :!: If you interested, here is a link to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/255624151536612/

So come when you want, before or after 10:30 and we hope to see you at

This was our first Romeo visit to Perky's Cafe since they expanded and we pretty much filled the room except for two tables reserved for their regular customers. It was hard to get an exact headcount, but my best estimate would be between 40-50. Everyone seemed to take my advice and arrived well separated so our waitress wasn't too overwhelmed; however, Mary and I pitched in to try and keep everyone's coffee topped off and make sure she got the orders to the kitchen. I must have been doing good as I got offered a job by the owner! Several complimented the food service and I think was satisfied with the dining experience. Although we came early and had breakfast, those who ordered the hamburger were impressed both with the size and quality. Perky's has their hamburger ground by a local butcher and the 1/2 pound burger will beat any fast food burger hand's down. I think this was the first time anyone has ridden their bicycle to a Romeo event! Here are a few pictures I took while keeping everyone's coffee cup filled up. Bob was snapping a few pictures, so he is welcome to add them for your viewing enjoying. :)

Thanks for coming! Sorry if I missed anyone and hope you all enjoy the rest of your Valentine's Day.
