The Mildred Store is located 7.4 miles north of Moran Ks. on 59 highway to West virginia Road and then turn west in to the town of Mildred. The Mildred Store is the only store that is open so you should not get lost.
The store will serve cold cuts and soup for lunch. They are in a general store so you may pick from the chips, pop coffee,cinnamon rolls that are on the shelves.
The store has about 12 different meats and cheeses to pick from for your sandwich and they pile the meat high. I have seen people remove some of the meat from their sandwich because it was piled to high.

Thanks Duffy for making arrangements with the Mildred Store as a destination for todays ride. It was like stepping back in time when as a child I can remember going to the neighborhood store with my mom and dad for lunch when we made a trip to the elevator. The assortment of meats and cheeses was large and just like the old community store always had. They cut the meat and cheese to order. There were also all kinds of chips and pop that made it easy to pick just the one you wanted. There were 10 Romeos on 6 bikes from as far away as Lamar, Lawrence, Urich and Ft Scott that also enjoyed this trip back in time. For those that missed today if you are ever on Hwy 59 between Moran and Kincaid stop in. Following are a few pictures that I hope you enjoy.
